Blind Date with Newmarket Library

31 January 2022

Staying in this Valentine’s Day? Have a blind date with a book from Newmarket Library

Newmarket Library will be offering a blind date with a book this February.

Visitors to the library will be able to pick up a ‘mystery book’ wrapped in brown paper with some words written on the cover to provide a brief description of the book.

Customers can select from seven genres of books: crime, thriller, historical, romance, science fiction, horror or a Quick Read which is a book for readers that prefer shorter stories.

Although it is themed around Valentine’s Day, visitors to Newmarket Library can pick up a blind date book at any time throughout February.

Joanne Feely, Library and Information Advisor at Newmarket Library, said: “Your next favourite book could be waiting for you, but don’t worry if your first date doesn’t work out, there will be plenty more to choose from!”

Newmarket Library are also taking part in their own Read 22 challenge, where visitors are encouraged to read 22 books over 2022 and leave their reviews on a display board at the library.

Visit Newmarket library to pick up your blind date book or take part in the Read 22 challenge. You can find the opening hours for the library on the Suffolk Libraries website.

For more information, contact the library on 01638 661216 or email [email protected].
