Gold Standard For Lemontree Properties

So why should a property owner choose Lemontree to manage their property? Lemontree is a pro-active, independent lettings specialist known for its excellent service and reputation - an achievement that the British Property Awards recognised when, in December, the company received the Gold Award for 2019/ 2020.

Lemontree Properties

Located in Old Station Road, Newmarket, with a Cambridge office in the pipeline, Lemontree successful manage over 300 properties in and around Cambridge and Newmarket. This personal and professional firm, which last year celebrated it's 10th anniversary, has expanded year after year, mainly through referrals and dose everything in-house including tenant referencing, inventories, inspections and checkouts, ensuring the highest level of service for both landlords and tenants. It is also important to note that Lemontree do no charge anything on top of their management fee - so no unexpected costs.

The experienced and knowledgeable members of staff have a positive and respectful relationship with all their landlords and tenants and the dedicated 24/7 maintenance team and inspections manager are a huge benefit as they ensure that every property is well maintained.

Beth Barnham, the owner and founder of Lemontree, said: "We are very fortunate that most of our new business is referred by existing landlords and tenants, so we don't generally do any form of newspaper / magazine or similar advertising. Having said that, I feel that our recent service award and 10 year anniversary last year are very relevant as they reinforce that we are a successful and capable agent supplying a level of service above that of our competitors."

Beth continued: "I consider us a pro-active and forward-thinking agent challenging and improving on the typical traditional practices. Over the years, I have noticed other agents following our trends - not just in Newmarket but in Cambridge and Ely too. Simple things, like our responsive website, branding and pool car.

"Our signage has always been vibrant and eye catching and our Let & Managed wording on our let boards are now used by many other agents. When we relocated, we wanted to ensure that we stood out from our competition, so our office is super-modern and fresh, but without losing our friendly and approachable attitude on which our visitors frequently comment. If you would like to know please give us a call."

Congratulations to the team on their recent recognition - onwards and upwards!

Premier Travel Launches Children's Easter Egg Appeal

Premier Travel has launched its annual campaign collecting Easter eggs for children in the care of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices.

Premier Travel is collecting the chocolate eggs in the lead up to Easter for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH). Staff are asking customers and members of the community to drop Easter eggs or other chocolate gifts into the branch in The Guineas Shopping Centre.

These will be passed onto EACH in time for Easter. Premier Travel has also made East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices their charity of the year so all company fundraising will be dedicated to the cause for 2020.

Elaine Carr, Newmarket branch manager, said: “Every year our local community pulls together and makes our Easter egg appeal a success and we are hoping this year is more successful than ever.

“East Anglia’s Children’s Hospice provides support and care for children with life-threatening conditions and we hope a chocolate Easter treat would help raise a smile.

“If you are able to donate an Easter egg or treat – no matter how big or small – it will be gratefully appreciated.”

Premier Travel Celebrates Successful Month

Premier Travel is celebrating after starting 2020 with one of its most successful sales periods.

The firm, which has a branch in The Guineas Shopping Centre, has seen a 25% increase in retail sales year-on-year across its 23 branches, yet in Newmarket, there was a 31% year-on-year increase.

The company believes this rise is due to many factors including the costs of holidays falling in many destinations and clients wanting the help and expertise of a travel agent they can trust in case issues arise following the huge changes in the travel industry last year in the collapse of Thomas Cook.

Premier Travel has also seen more customers using their out of hours local call centre to confirm holidays as well as more people making contact over the phone and email to get quotes.

Premier Travel opened three new branches last year in new areas – Mildenhall, Sudbury and Braintree.

Paul Waters, Director of Premier Travel, said: “We are thrilled to have had such a positive start to 2020. Branches have been very busy and customers are still wanting to get booked early to secure their holiday.

“Customers return to us because they recognise our staff and their expertise and know that they will go above and beyond to make sure they have a holiday to remember but also to take control should things go wrong.

“This year, we have continued to see people wanting to have experiences on their holidays over simply relaxing on a beach and coming into a branch to get those ideas is invaluable.

“With even more travel options coming to our local airports we hope this success will continue through the year.”

Business of the Month: November

Starting life in Newmarket as a family business printing sheet music in the 1860s, Tindalls has become a fundamental part of our high street. Operating with a strong team of 12 staff, the business continues to develop and support the community, which is why we have nominated it as our business of the month.

Following the news that the newsagent adjacent to Tindalls (formerly owned by The Henderson Group) went into administration earlier this year, Director Jamie Gaskin stepped up to ensure that the key services offered by the business continue in our town.

Commenting Jamie said: “The newsagent and ourselves were one business years ago, and whilst it was sold to Hendersons it still had the Tindalls name above the door, so we felt an obligation to try and help it. We have worked with the administrators to try and salvage what we can from the store, and are now working on ways to amalgamate the services together."

Bringing in a series of books and greetings cards into the Arts and Crafts business made sense, whilst also catering for the newsagent’s loyal customers and our town’s needs.

“We’re now going through a period of change, monitoring what’s selling and continuing with the best stock,” explains Jamie. “We’re revamping the store to take into account a selection of greetings cards that we will definitely continue into next year.”

Retaining the strong services offered by Tindalls Arts and Crafts, including a range of stationery, arts and craft materials, the store looks set to flourish. Welcoming weekly artist workshops in both acrylic and watercolour, alongside a very popular children’s art club for children aged 7 and over, there’s always something going on.

Commenting on the store further, Jamie said: “Tindalls has historically been a fundamental part of the High Street. We want to remain here for many years to come, so are evolving to ensure we are. Our focal point is still very much the arts and crafts, and of course our loyal customers whom we’re lucky to have gained over the years.”

Premier Travel Launches Christmas Appeal

Premier Travel Christmas Appeal

Premier Travel in Newmarket has launched their annual Christmas toy appeal to help ensure children in care receive a gift this Christmas.

Staff are appealing for donations of new toys or gifts for the Santa’s Sack campaign, which aims to make Christmas special for children who are less fortunate in the local community.

Presents donated to Santa’s Sack will be taken to the local foster services team and delivered to children in local care facilities in time for Christmas Day.

The branches are seeking donations suitable for babies and any age children up to 16.

Elaine Carr, branch manager, said: “Christmas is a time for giving and the Santa’s Sack appeal means those who may not otherwise receive a gift have something special for Christmas Day.

“If you’re out Christmas shopping in Newmarket, please consider buying an extra gift to put a smile on a child’s face.

“Our appeal goes from strength to strength each year and we are hoping it grows again for 2019. All donations, no matter how big or small, are most welcome.”

Customers can pop into branch, in The Guineas shopping centre, to make a donation until 7 December.
