From Monday 8th June, The Racing Centre will undergo a series of renovations to improve its facilities and create a state-of-the-art café.

The scope of work includes a full renovation of the current café/bar area, an increased reception area as well as two additional rooms to accommodate further rehabilitation work. The upgraded café will boast a barista coffee machine, an upgraded kitchen capable of producing both hot and cold meals, and new furnishings throughout. The function hall will benefit from new flooring, upgraded furnishings and overall modernisation to cater for weddings, conferences and sporting events. Finally, the gym will be enlarged to reflect the Centre’s growing membership. Works are currently scheduled to be completed on 17th August with a phased approach to reopening in accordance with government guidelines.

The renovation works have been made possible by a grant from the John Pearce Foundation. Set up in the memory of Mr Pearce, who spent many happy years in Newmarket and whose horses remain in training at Heath House Stables. The Foundation’s initial focus in on funding charities that support current and former participants in horseracing and thoroughbred breeding that are in need, both human and equine. Godolphin and the Shadwell Fund provided additional funding for the Centre’s gym reconfiguration.
