Love Newmarket

BID Manager & Town Ranger

Paul Brown
BID Manager

Paul owns a luxury retail and manufacturing company in Suffolk which he founded back in 2009. He was a former director of Our Bury St Edmunds BID which has given him invaluable experience of how the organisation can be a huge benefit to town centres when run successfully. This knowledge coupled with operating his own business for 10 years places him in good stead to take Love Newmarket forward.

In his spare time he enjoys playing pool, walking and going to the gym.

Ed Vince
Town Ambassador

Ed Vince came to us in February 2017, having previously been the Security Manager for the Cornhill Walk Shopping Centre in Bury St Edmunds, and before that, a manager in retail.

Ed's role is to be the visible presence in the town, offering tourists help and advice on where to go and what to see, as well as keeping our streets clean & tidy and engaging with our members.

"The BID provides a framework for the prosperity of the town, and if we can work together and support each other, we give ourselves a chance to ‘make a difference’. I am very keen to work with business to ‘make things happen’ and help create a positive future for our town."

Cllr Susan Glossop
Local Authority
West Suffolk Council

“Our town centres are important places of economic, social and cultural activity. While high streets nationally are facing a time of great challenge and change, we are working with partners to ensure they continue to be places where people live and work, shop and visit. I believe that the Newmarket Business Improvement District has an important role to play helping drive the economic recovery of the town centre for the long-term benefit of the businesses based here and that is why I am delighted to be on the board of directors.”

Andy Drummond
Local Authority
West Suffolk Council

“As a town councillor and county councillor I was a part of the team who helped set up Love Newmarket BID back in 2016. Over the last five years the organisation has worked closely with the town council on joint projects like the Christmas lights and Saturday pop-up market events. Next year will prove a very challenging year and Love Newmarket will be at the forefront of driving footfall back to the town and revitalise the shopping experience so that customers come back.”

Philippa Winter

"As a Director of Love Newmarket Bid I would really encourage all business’s who are members to engage more with Love Newmarket. A lot of work goes on behind the scenes and The Bid Manager or Directors are happy to help with any enquiries our members may have."

We see the benefits the BID’s give to towns like Newmarket which has been especially important with the Coronavirus Pandemic this year and for the future as we rebuild the high street.

Being part of the team of Directors gives me an opportunity to help shape the future high street in Newmarket for all to benefit and I would recommend all business’s to take up the opportunities available to you."

"BID to me is crucial for the town of Newmarket. It is the extraordinary investment that makes the difference for the town, but in particular the member businesss. We all pay towards the BID, and all have a vested interest in the ongoing vital growth and development of the High Street and all the businesss either in it, or attached to it. I am proud to say I am a Director of Love Newmarket."
